Le personnage-protagoniste se m\u00e9tamorphose et perd totalement son identit\u00e9. Utilis\u00e9e dans un processus de symbolisation, la synecdoque est un outil stylistique fortement utilis\u00e9 par l\u2019auteure, en l\u2019occurrence, pour focaliser l\u2019attention du lecteur sur les parties du corps qui se d\u00e9figurent et prennent une autre couleur. L\u2019analyse montre que les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de substitution poussent \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame l\u2019image de la femme oppress\u00e9e.
