The article begins by providing a comprehensive definition of blended learning and highlights its importance in enhancing the educational experience. It also reviews current trends and future orientations of this type of learning. Moreover, the article presents a review of several empirical studies that examined the effectiveness of blended learning in higher education institutions. It discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing blended learning in universities and colleges.
