Considering that the most recent educational reform curricula in our country are categorized as modern, according to their designers, this study sought to evaluate the first generation of middle school mathematics curricula (2003) to determine the extent to which mathematics didactics contributed to the development and production of the second generation (2016). The study employed a descriptive-analytical method and used a multi-faceted lens (epistemological, didactic, and pedagogical). The findings revealed a notable presence of certain ideas and tools from mathematics didactics in the second-generation curricula, which appeared more consistent and aligned with the constructivist and competency-based approaches compared to the first generation.
