Statement on Publication Ethics and Malpractice
This statement on Publication Ethics and Malpractice reflects Atras Journal’s policy since its creation in 2019 and integration into The Algerian Scientific Journal Platform (ASJP).
Atras insists on research publication integrity based on the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (Committee on Publication Ethics, 2011).
Atras publishes original manuscripts, including review articles, reports, and case studies relevant to humanities in general and language studies in particular.
The journal follows an open access policy, i.e., researchers can access all issues, download, and read papers for free.
All the journal’s content is archived on its website: https://atras-univ-saida.dz/en/ and the Algerian Scientific Journal Platform: https://www.asjp.cerist.dz/en/PresentationRevue/880 This means that all the content of the journal will remain digitally available for free under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CCBY-NC 4.0) License which permits authors, researchers, and readers to downloading, copying and distributing published materials. It also allows using published papers as building materials for other
publications by providing the appropriate citation and accreditation of sources.
The journal is issued by the University of Saida, Dr. Moulay Tahar, Faculty of Letters, Languages, and Arts. The university does not collaborate with any private publishing company or house of edition. Atras also prohibits using the published materials for commercial purposes.
Atras is against any unethical practice as it is mentioned in the journal’s policies and ethics of publication. The journal also provides guidelines for errata, retracting, and correcting published articles.
Publication Ethics
Atras Journal requires that all authors should adhere to ethical considerations in research as prescribed by the Committee on Publication Ethics “CPE”.
Originality
Authors should submit original contributions that were not published before. Authors should agree on that in a consent form.
Plagiarism
The journal has strict policies in terms of plagiarism. Authors should correctly acknowledge all the references found in their papers. To avoid any kind of plagiarism, the journal checks all newly submitted papers using Detectia. The journal policy requires that the similarity should be below 10% in all published papers.
Citation Principles
Authors should follow APA style (7 th edition) to format their papers. Authors should include relevant references in their papers. Citing articles to raise their citation is discouraged.
Citing references for particular journals to raise their visibility and impact factors is not accepted.
Ethical Approval
Authors should state explicitly that their papers adhere to ethical standards.
Ethical Statement
Authors should explain any ethical issue in the method section. It should be stated in all articles that contain data collection except review papers.
